Kaylin, captain

Hello!! I'm Kaylin, and am 23 years old. I am currently working on my AA degree. This will be my fourth season with Tampa Independent and second season as one of the captains! I would say I’m a huge extrovert that tries to keep the team motivated during rehearsals. This will be my 9th year spinning! Four of those years were spent spinning at JW Mitchell High School, where I was also a captain for two seasons.
I have also spun for colts drum corps for three seasons, which was my home away from home. I can't wait to spin this season with my dream team!

Hey, I’m Maddie Bon! I’m super stoked to be spinning with Tampa Independent this year. This will be my 7th season with the organization, and I am always thrilled by what new things each year brings. Here’s to an amazing year with my second family!

Benji

Hey! My name is Benji, Im 19 years old, and this would me my third season of color guard. I started off my color career with the Tarpon Springs Outdoor Performance Ensemble and was most recently a performer in the 2020 production of Bellboy by Tarpon Springs World Guard. This would be my first year as a performer in Tampa Independent and also my first year back after a two years break. Im excited to once again be a color guard performer and get to experience many of the special moments this season has in store, such as performing in Dayton for the first time.

Claudia

My name is Claudia Diaz and I’m ecstatic to be a member of the Tampa Independent organization! I graduated from the University of South Florida in 2021 with my Bachelor of Science in Health Science. I am currently applying to Doctor of Physical Therapy programs across Florida. I have been participating in color guard activities for eight years and this is my first year on an independent team! I have passion in all things creative including writing, reading, drawing, and of course color guard! I will see y’all on the floor this 2023 season!

Hi, my name is Courtney. I come from Creekside High School in Jacksonville, Florida. I attend USF and am dual majoring in Health Sciences and ASL Interpreting. I spun with USF last year before making my way over to Tampa Independent to be with friends. I spin weapon in high school but have decided to stick with my first love, flag. I love learning new trick tosses and challenging myself to add body

Namaste, I’m EJ. I’ve been a part of the colorguard world for a little over a decade. During the day I’m a CRCST setting up for surgeries at Moffitt Cancer Center and by night I’m a dedicated cat dad.
Super excited to dive back into winterguard with this amazing team and have some fun! Happy twirling and world peace to all!

My name is Emma, and I’m 19. I spun with JW Mitchell for four years and spun with the Colts drum and bugle corps for the 2021 & 2022 seasons. This is my second year with TI, and I’m super excited for what this season brings as well as being back to spin with my friends.

Esmi

Hi!! My name is Esmeralda better known as Esmi and I’m 21! I went to Weeki Wachee High School, where I spun all four years, on both weapons and flag. I also was a captain for three of those four years! I’m a cosmetology student and am expecting to graduate in the spring of 2023! I’m looking forward to performing with Tampa Independent, especially with this being the first year the organization is competing in World Class. From the outside looking In, I have been a huge fan of the productions showcased by the staff and performers. Now that I’m on the other side of the floor (again), I am ready to push the limits of world class and have another great season for the books.

Hi my name is G’nique, I am 19 and this will be my second season with Tampa Independent. I am a Pre-Law Criminology student at USF and this will be my last season before going off to law school. Last year, I was on the Open guard and I am very excited to be challenged in World class this season!!

Hello I'm Koda! This is my third year spinning with Tampa Independent. Before that I spun for four years in high school with the J.W. Mitchell Color Guard and going into my second year of teaching there. I'm currently working on getting my AA and going to school for Cyber Security. Very excited for this season and can't wait to see everyone for another amazing year!

Hi! I’m Kreelee. I’m 19 years old and this will be my 9th year in color guard. I started color guard in 7th grade, continued in 8th grade, at Tarpon Springs middle school. I’ve marched with TSOPE and spun with Tarpon Springs World guard all four years of high school. I have also marched with Carolina Crown ‘21 and ‘22. This is my first year spinning with TI and I’m so excited to be spinning in a gym with some amazing people! Some fun facts about me: I love Harry Potter, I have 5 cats, and I’m addicted to açaí bowls

Hi my name is Liam. I am 18 and I have been participating in guard for almost 5 years now . I started freshman year in high school at Tarpon Springs High School and continued to spend the rest of my high school guard career there. I also had the pleasure to march this past 2022 Carolina crown season. I am now happy to say I get to march my next indoor season with Tampa Independent. I am looking forward to all of the amazing memories I will create here. Anyways, a little bit about me is I love eating, I love sleeping and lastly I love making new friends

Hi my name is Megan! I am so excited to be back for my third year with TI! I am currently in school at Lake-Sumter State up College pursuing a degree in Business and am working as the Assistant Director of Nursing at an ALF in Tampa. I am an alumni of Wesley Chapel High School where I spun with them for 4 years! I cannot wait to see what this season brings!

My name is Melissa, I'm 20 years old and this is my 7th year doing colorguard. I started my colorguard years with Tarpon Springs High School and marching band and World guard from 2016-2020. I have also marched with Carolina Crown in 2021 and 2022. This will be my first season with Tampa Independent. I am so excited to see where this journey takes me this season and all the memories I'll be making.

Hey! My name is Nelson and this is my first season with TI! I started color guard my sophomore year of high school with the Tarpon Springs High School Color Guard. After I graduated high school, I auditioned to be a part of the Carolina Crown Color Guard and have now been a part of the Crown Guard for two years. I am super excited to see what this season brings, and can’t wait to spin with these extremely talented people!

Thad

Hi, I’m Thad! This is my 3rd season with Tampa Independent aka my forever family! This will be my 7th consecutive season, 4 of them being with Wesley Chapel. The past 2 seasons I’ve been helping with Wesley Chapel High School’s colorguard for both marching and winter, and will be helping Freedom High School Tampa this winter! I’m very excited to expand my boundaries in our first year of world class and wouldn’t want to do it with anyone else!
